Maximizing the benefit of Microsoft Active Directory
Many companies use Microsoft Active Directory for workstation authentication, however not many take the maximum benefit out of it. Information such as phone, extension, mobile, manager (reporting structure), etc. can be stored in Active Directory, making it becomes one central employee database for your company.
Active Directory should be the most updated database because security administrator has to enable or disable the access upon an employee arrival or departure. Why would your Intranet depend on another out of date database?
No Active Directory? No Problem
If your company does not have Microsoft Active Directory, XML file can be used instead. You can manually edit the XML file using your favourite XML or plain-txt editor and then upload the file for updating.
