	How does it work?

Without installing any software on client's machine, it runs on most browsers provided that supported Java Virtual Machine (VM) is installed on the browser. On server side, it can be run on Microsoft IIS (Windows XP, Server 2000, Server 2003) with ASP.NET, or it can be run on PHP with Apache, either on Linux or Windows. Please check out the minimal requirement section for details.


	What does it measure?

First of all, you have to understand clearly what is Throughput and Bandwidth. SpeedCheck Pro measures Throughput, it does not measure Bandwidth. SpeedCheck Pro is based on real file transfer, so it DOES include all overhead such as network/server performance, under-utilization in the beginning of the transfer, etc. In other words, SpeedCheck Pro measures file transfer speed from server to client in a given time period on the network. Therefore, by design, it shows the REAL scenario of data downloading and uploading.

What can SpeedCheck Pro do for you and your customers?

SpeedCheck Pro let you use your favourite videos, powerpoint, or big graphic files to do the real speed test. Without looking at the numbers or chart, you can just feel how fast to download or upload your files.

	Features Highlight

Accuracy: It is based on real file transfers. Real files are required to place on web server to be downloaded. Data is uploaded and files are written to HDD of server.
Statistics: Raw data of statistics are sent to the server and then writes to the database. Depending on your needs, this can be useful to generate reports. Another example is to use "session_id" feature to query the database based on session_id to get report (plot graph, etc) for the existing session. (See Reports below)
Permission: Able to tell SpeedCheck to stop functioning based on conditions responded from the server. For example, we can query the database and tell SpeedCheck to stop working if an unique address has reached the daily transfer limit. Support customized message sends back to client explaining why his/her access has been denied. See Screenshot for details.
